Aircraft Wrecks in the Mountains and Deserts of the American West
B-24D
On February 9, 1945 a USAAF Consolidated B-24D #42-40427 crashed on Pueblo Mountain near Denio, Nevada while on a routine night navigational training mission. All eleven crewmen on board the B-24D were killed. In early June 2012 a group of motorcycle riding friends visited the crash site of 42-40427 where they placed a memorial plaque and marker. Please view the attached link to see the complete story. Tom Clouse and his team mates are to be commended for this fine effort on behalf of the deceased crewmen and their next of kin.
