Vultee BT-13A
4/29/47

On April 29, 1947, war surplus Vultee BT-13A, crashed near Skitwish Peak while on a flight from Kellogg, ID, to Coeur d'Alene, ID.  The aircraft, which had Canadian civil registration C56962, struck trees while flying in poor weather and plummeted into the snow covered forest.  James Fisher of Wallace, ID, and Harvey Meacham, of Kellogg, ID, survived the crash but died of their injuries a short time later after attempting to find help.  The wreck was discovered 4 days later by loggers.  Special thanks to Eric Lund and Tom Maloney for help with finding this aircraft.  Site visited 6/28/14
